To avoid commissions you must meet one of the following requirements:
- Electronic deposits made into this account totaling $500 or more.
- Have more than $1,500 in the checking account.
- Have $5,000 in all Chase accounts.
To get the bonus you have to make a valid direct deposit. Valid direct deposits are payroll, government and social security payments.
Chase Premier Plus checking
Chase Premier Plus checking is a Chase premium account that has no commissions on cashier checks, you can make 4 withdrawals per month at non-Chase ATMs and you can also access higher interest rates (compared to the market they are very low).. On the other hand, it does not have a welcome bonus and it is very difficult to avoid commissions.
To avoid commissions you must meet one of the following requirements:
- Have an average of $15,000 in the sum of all Chase accounts
- Have a linked qualifying Chase first mortgage enrolled in automatic payments from your Chase account
Chase Secure Banking
Chase Secure Banking is a checking account that has monthly commissions of $4.95 that you cannot avoid, it does not have an overdraft service or paper checks. The only advantage of this account is that you can receive the payroll two business days before.
Summary of differences
As a final summary, we can say that Chase Total Checking is the best Chase checking account because it has a bonus of $200 and it is very easy to avoid commissions. For those with saving or higher incomes, they can consider opening Chase Premier Plus checking because although it does not have a bonus, it offers 4 withdrawals per month at non-Chase ATMs, free wire transfers and No fees cashier checks. Finally, we do not recommend opening Secured Banking because it has a monthly commission of $4.95 and has no bonus.
